
Stacy Christenson's professional music career started in 1965 with "The Statesmen" a popular dance band of the era who toured with or opened for many national acts including “The Young Rascals”, “Tommy James and the Shondells”, “Bread” and “Every Mother’s Son”. In 1970 Stacy formed Gabriel in Tacoma Washington and soon moved the band to Seattle where they attracted the attention of several major labels including Polydor and Elektra Records. With Stacy as one of three principle songwriters and lead vocalists, Gabriel recorded an unreleased album for Elektra Records in 1973 and in 1974 were signed to ABC Dunhill Records where they released two albums, "This Star on Every Heel" in 1975 and "Sweet Release" in 1976. Gabriel reached its' recording pinnacle with "Martha" in 1977 that reached 32 on the Billboard Charts with a bullet, while signed to CBS/Epic/Sweet City Records. For several years following his departure from Gabriel, Stacy toured with Epicentre, the very popular Seattle based R&B/ Funk band, then In 1983 Stacy opened SCM Studios where he recorded or produced many local and regional acts through the 80's and 90's, which included Curt Cobain later of "Nirvana" fame, noted producer and songwriter Dan Christopherson and speed core pioneers "Mace" released in Europe on Black Dragon Records. During the 1990's Stacy composed music for commercials and corporate videos which included clients, Key Bank, Albertson's and Boeing. During that same time Stacy composed and recorded music for an award winning documentary on PBS called "The Vertical Environment" featuring Lynn Redgrave. Stacy currently operates SCM Studios as a semi-public project studio where he continues to pursue his songwriting career while performing live with Gabriel and the Blues Power Revue.
